How to Claim

To help us process your claim as quickly as possible, we will need some information or documents; the list below will tell you what we need. We will ask you to upload these documents at the end of the claim lodgement process.

  • If you do not have the supporting documents. You can still submit your claim and we will give you a claim number. However, we won‘t be able to start processing your claim until we receive all of the required information. After you have submitted the claim you can forward the supporting documents separately to claims@terrischeer.com.au. Please ensure you include your claim number in the email subject line.
  • Some claims are more difficult to process and may require additional support. If the damage you are claiming for is likely to exceed $2,000 we may need to appoint a loss adjustor. Please call us on 1800 804 016 between 8.30am and 5.00pm, and we will discuss the process with you.

Water damage

Important

If water damage exceeds $2,000 in repair costs, please contact us as soon as possible. We may need to appoint an assessor.

Our Landlord Preferred, Landlord Preferred Self Managed, Scheer Short Stay and Residential Building policies insure you against water damage from various causes including bursting or leaking pipes and overflow of water from roof gutters, drains, hot water systems and dishwashers.

Documents required

  • Last two routine inspections
    Copy of the two most recent routine inspection reports (including photos) which were completed prior to this damage occurring
  • Photos
    Labelled clear colour photos of the damage caused
  • Itemised quotes/invoices
    Itemised quotes or invoices for the repair or replacement of the damaged items being claimed
  • Tradesman’s causation report
    Report from a qualified tradesperson which outlines how the damage has been caused and confirmation it has been fixed
