Details of what's covered

If you use a property manager, we have two types of Landlord Insurance policies available. Our Landlord Preferred Policy covers those with permanent tenancies and our Scheer Short Stay Policy covers those with short-term rentals or holiday homes.

Up to 52 weeks loss of rent for permanent tenancies; Up to 26 weeks loss of rent (but no more than $25,000 per year) for holiday let properties
Failure to vacate a holiday let property

Rent reduction
Up to 6 weeks reduction of rent

Up to $60,000 cover included per year, combined with Building Cover. You can increase your cover up to $100,000.

Why Landlord Insurance is important

Landlord Insurance covers you for tenant-related losses. Things like loss of rent due to a tenant breaking their lease or being evicted, or damage caused to your contents by tenants, like drink spills on carpets. Other insurance may not cover these events, and very often, the bond won’t be enough to cover the associated costs.
