We will pay up to $2000 for the cost of repair or replacement of an electric motor of an appliance forming part of contents which has been burnt out by an electric current. Please see the policy wording for full details of cover provided.

You must contribute towards the cost of replacement parts as follows:
Where the age of the motor is less than 5 years, no contribution is required; where the age of the motor is five years or more the depreciation deduction will be on a reducing balance of 8% of the cost of the replacement parts for each year of age from new.

These contributions are in addition to the excess applicable under this section of the policy.

The following documentation is required when submitting a claim:

• Completed claim form
  Download Electric Motor Burnout Claim Form (86kb)
  Ensure all appliance details are included
• Two quotes for repairs/replacement of motor
• Age of motor
• Report from repairer stating damage as fusion
